What is Cygnus Finance?
Cygnus is a modular protocol built to issue native, yield-bearing assets pegged to major cryptocurrencies and the U.S. dollar—specifically cgUSD, clBTC, and cgETH. Each asset accrues real yield by investing into short-term U.S. Treasury bills or derivative mechanisms tied to BTC and ETH, with returns automatically reflected on-chain via rebasing.
The system relies on a Liquidity Validation System (LVS), a native mechanism that incentivizes participation through real yield for users who provide stability and security—such as staking within the system. This creates shared incentives while maintaining decentralization.
Developed as an Optimistic Rollup Layer 2, Cygnus features account-abstraction, making onboarding user-friendly and developer integration seamless. Its modular infrastructure, including tools like the Pool SDK and developer API, supports composability across DeFi applications and emerging Web3 social experiences.
Cygnus aims to bridge traditional real-yield sources with decentralized finance, delivering native, income-generating assets and a secure, scalable foundation for future cross-chain protocols.
