What is Reservoir?
Reservoir is a permissionless, asset-backed stablecoin protocol built on Ethereum and layer-1 & 2 integrations. At its core is rUSD, a decentralized stablecoin redeemable 1:1 for USDC via the Peg Stability Module. It’s backed by a diversified collateral pool including DeFi assets and tokenized real-world assets, managed through asset adapters under strict solvency constraints.
On top of rUSD, users can mint two yield-generating tokens:
- srUSD: A savings token that accrues yield from the protocol's balance sheet.
- trUSD: A fixed-term token offering locked-in coupons via timed redemptions.
Reservoir maintains transparency and resilience with a fully on-chain Proof of Reserves system, a Credit Enforcer enforcing liquidity ratios, and third-party smart contract audits by Halborn.
The protocol's multi-asset backbone and robust risk framework aim to deliver stable, scalable, and varied yield options—whether they’re variable, savings-based, or term-fixed—without sacrificing decentralization.
