Cryptosteel is a premium cold storage solution designed for securely backing up cryptocurrency seed phrases and other sensitive information using high-grade stainless steel. The Cryptosteel Capsule is a cylindrical device made from 303 and 304-grade stainless steel, designed to store up to 123 characters, including letters, numbers, and special characters. It allows for the secure storage of a 24-word seed phrase by using the first four letters of each word, following the BIP39 standard. The capsule is resistant to fire, water, corrosion, and mechanical damage, ensuring the longevity and security of the stored data. Users can set up the Capsule by unscrewing the cap, sliding the character tiles onto the core, and securing them with a fastener. The Cryptosteel Cassette is another robust option for cold storage, featuring a slot-and-tile mechanism to store up to 96 characters. It is designed to hold either a 24-word seed phrase or two 12-word seed phrases. The Cassette is constructed from marine-grade stainless steel, providing exceptional resistance to physical and environmental damage. Users arrange the tiles within the cassette to represent their seed phrase or private key, ensuring that the data remains secure and intact even under extreme conditions.
Both Cryptosteel devices are fireproof up to 1400°C, waterproof, and corrosion-resistant.
